Difference Between Power Wash and Pressure Wash

Difference Between Power Wash and Pressure Washing

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between power washing and pressure washing? Or have you ever even wondered if there is a difference? Quite often these two terms are used in the same format, but in reality, there are a few significant differences between them. The differences may seem very small, but actually are used in very different ways. Continue reading to learn more about these main differences.

Pressure wash is the function that is used most often in general cleaning situations, such as with most homes and driveways. Pressure washing is the use of a high-powered, high-pressured water machine that specializes in removing dirt, grime, mud, mold, moss, and other unwanted substances from a specific surface. The results are usually excellent and customers are quite happy with the cleaning process as a whole.

Power washing is quite similar to pressure washing, but with one major difference. That difference is heat.  Power washing involves the heating of the water used in the high-pressured water machine, that provides even more cleaning power than with a regular pressure washer. The heat of the water targets tough stains and stubborn oil-based substances better than cool water machines. However, the high temperature of the water can be harmful for some surfaces.

If you have a question about which water type to use for your particular cleaning job, then it is best to contact a professional. Our staff members at Extreme Clean of Georgia are knowledgeable and glad to help you distinguish which washer will work best for your particular job.

Due to the fact that very hot water temperatures can be damaging to some building surfaces, generally pressure washing techniques are recommended; however, sometimes for larger, hardier areas such as commercial buildings or concrete surfaces, power washing techniques are the way to go.

One thing is for sure, and that is that whichever washing technique you decide is best for your cleaning needs, whether it is power washing or pressure washing, you will be pleased with the end product. Nothing can spruce up a home, business, or the surrounding areas quite like a good, thorough water cleaning.
